La Sammana Resort

With five-floors of tinted windows, the La Sammana Resort is a corporate-looking building in a quiet residential area that’s within walking distance to the beach and a short drive to Atlantic City. The timeshare’s lobby is sparsely decorated in black leather armchairs, blue recessed lighting, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Options to buy timeshare units are available, but the staff isn’t pushy with sales pitches. A few '80s-style bentwood chairs and navy leather sofas are scattered about the space, as well as a counter with self-serve tea and coffee dispensers. The lounge is similarly clad in minimal and modern, if bland, decor with an executive feel and features an array of armchairs as well as books, board games, and a flat-screen TV. 

Situated in a residential area on the relaxed Brigantine Island, the resort is located across the street from a police department and two blocks from the beach. Various shops, restaurants, and supermarkets line the street and there's a bus stop across from the property with busses going to Atlantic City, a 15-minute drive away. The hotel also provides a free shuttle that goes to Harrah's Resort, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, the Tanger Outlets, as well as the Atlantic City boardwalk. The Absecon Lighthouse is a 15-minute drive. And the Atlantic City International Airport is 25 minutes by car.

Contemporary, light-wood furnishings, dark brown leather sofas and headboards, and shots of deep blue textiles fill the studios and one- and two-bedroom suites at the La Sammana Resort. Decor is pleasant, if a bit dated and bland, with cheap curtains and carpets, as well as old tube TVs in certain rooms. Units are well equipped for extended stays with modern kitchenettes that are outfitted with two-burner stovetops, microwaves, dishwashers, coffeemakers, refrigerators, and a range of dining and cooking ware. All suites have flat-screen TVs, DVD players, stereos, and safes, and some have balconies. Bathrooms have modern fixtures, shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and limited toiletries. Note: Guests bag their own trash and contact housekeeping for removal.

The hotel's rooftop features a sundeck that offers panoramic views of the town and ocean as well as a small pool surrounded by blue lounge chairs, though it can get crowded during the summer. The fitness room offers modern cardio equipment with built-in mini TVs, as well as free weights, yoga mats, towels, and a large flat-screen TV. The Oasis Lounge has an executive feel with contemporary furniture, a flat-screen TV, books, board games, and a dining area with a mini-fridge and snack vending machine. Soda machines are available in the lobby. Two workstations with PC computers can be found in the business center, also outfitted with a printer. Self-serve laundry facilities include two coin-operated washers and dryers. Beach tags, if they’re not sold out, are available for purchase at the hotel. A free shuttle provides service to Atlantic City casinos, the boardwalk, and Tanger Outlets.
