The 511-room Omni San Diego Hotel is a solid four-pearl pick in the Gaslamp Quarter, with an outdoor pool and spacious, contemporary rooms. It's across the road from the San Diego Convention Center, and is connected to Petco Park via skybridge -- but for those more interested in partying than in business or baseball, the nearby Hard Rock offers more exciting nightlife options.

Sophisticated upscale chain hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter
The Omni San Diego has a grown-up, business-oriented vibe and sophisticated (if unadventurous) decor. In the lobby, light woods, works of art displayed in recessed shelves, gleaming marble tile floors, soaring ceilings and huge glass windows combine to create a soothing, airy feel. The rooms are also calm and light-filled. But some patterns are generic, making the decor feel a little less than luxurious overall.
Location
In the Gaslamp Quarter, connected via skybridge to Petco Park
The Omni San Diego is located in the southern end of the Gaslamp Quarter, connected by skybridge to Petco Park and across the street from the San Diego Convention Center.
The historical Gaslamp Quarter, located between 4th and 6th avenues, and between Broadway to the north and Harbor Drive to the south, is a hip, young neighborhood that’s home to some of downtown San Diego's best restaurants, shopping, nightlife, boutiques, and art galleries. It’s also where some of the city’s most popular outdoor celebrations -- Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, and the Street Scene music festival -- take place.
