The Estrel is a mammoth conference hotel with 1,125 rooms and suites. This complex also has five restaurants, two bars, a summer garden, and a concert venue with a performance every night. Simple, modern rooms are on the large side and have minibars, flat-screen TVs, and work desks. The hotel has a variety of public spaces, including a spacious lobby, outdoor biergarten, and indoor atrium bar. There is also a well-equipped fitness room and a business center. All of these amenities are an effort to make the complex as entertaining as possible, as the Estrel is quite far from the bustle of Berlin's center.

In southeast Berlin, quite removed from the action
As with most conference centers of this size, Estrel Berlin is not centrally located. Though the driving times to the center of the city look manageable, public transport to this part of Berlin is less abundant, and it will take 40 minutes on a train or bus to reach the most popular tourist sights. The hotel is certainly working hard to entertain guests so that they don't need to leave, but any tourists looking to see Berlin from this vantage point may be disappointed.
Berlin is a vibrant city with a tolerant and spirited arts scene and fantastic public transportation. Over 20 years since the Berlin Wall fell, the German capital has become known to have something for everyone, from world-class dining and great street food to cutting edge artists and performers, and even a growing fashion scene.
