Best Western Plus Hannaford Inn & Suites

Located off the interstate between Kings Island amusement park and downtown Cincinnati, the Best Western Plus Hannaford Inn and Suites attracts business travelers on extended stays and travelers in town for campus events at the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. The tasteful lobby, with granite floors, a chandelier over a glass table, recessed lighting, and a sitting area near the reception desk, makes a good first impression. There's also a living room area with mauve sofas and armchairs, and intricately patterned carpeting, all accented by potted tropical plants and gold drapes framing large windows. The mauve-and-black carpeting extends into the adjacent breakfast area, where square and round tables seat two, four, or six guests for breakfast.

The hotel is located off I-71, which runs through the heart of the city, in a busy shopping and commercial area northeast of downtown. The Kenwood Towne Center mall is a two-minute walk from the hotel, and more shopping and dining choices are within a few minutes' drive. Kenwood Theatre is a six-minute drive, and Jewish Hospital is a one-minute drive from the hotel. Nearby Blue Ash (an eight-minute drive) is home to 2,300 businesses, as well as the University of Cincinnati’s expansive Blue Ash campus. The University’s main campus is about a 15-minute drive away in Clifton, and Xavier University is a 12-minute drive. The Kings Island amusement park is about a 20-minute drive. Downtown’s attractions such as the Duke Energy Convention Center, Horseshoe Casino, and Great American Ball Park are about 20 minutes away by car. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is about a 30- to 35-minute drive from the hotel. There's a bus stop within a six-minute walk of the hotel, but public transportation is not an efficient way to get around in this area.

The 79 rooms at the Best Western Plus Hannaford Inn & Suites don't vary much in decor -- all are dark with crimson-patterned carpeting and dark-wood furniture. Accent walls behind the beds are either dark brown or red, while other walls are beige. Drapes are beige with leaf patterns, and the white bedding is accented by rust-color throws and bolster pillows. Double Rooms include kitchenettes with granite countertops, sinks, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, dishes, and cookware. Larger King and Executive King Suites have separate living rooms, additional 37-inch flat-screen TVs, and full kitchens with a granite bar, full-size refrigerators, and stovetops. All rooms include sleeper sofas, desks with media plug-ins, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms, with brown-tile floors, are small and basic, with granite vanities, shower/tub combos framed by beige tiles, and individual toiletries. Queen Suites have wall-mounted toiletry dispensers. 

The hotel has a good share of freebies, such as breakfast with made-to-order omelets, Wi-Fi access, parking, and daily newspapers. The 24-hour fitness center has several cardio and weight-training machines, along with free weights, and there's a small outdoor pool with lounge chairs. The 24-hour business center has computer stations, Internet access, and a printer. Meeting space and a coin-operated laundry are also available, and there's an ATM on-site. Be aware that the hotel is nonsmoking, and it does not allow pets.
