This huge upper-mid-range chain hotel caters mostly to the business traveler, with a decent seafood restaurant on-site, a nice fitness center, FedEx business services (fee based) and lots of meeting space, and a rooftop pool with river views. Rooms, though clean and high-tech (flat-screen TVs, iHome docks), have somewhat bland and generic decor that feels slightly subpar for a Hyatt Regency hotel -- but most have great river views and all come with comfy beds. Watch out for extra charges for Wi-Fi and parking.

The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront is aptly named -- it sits right by St. Johns River, in the southern edge of downtown Jacksonville. This is a quiet spot in the vibrant side of town, but it is close to major attractions and some of the dining and entertainment hotspots in Jacksonville, like the Jacksonville Landing and the Southbank Riverwalk.
Jacksonville attracts more business travelers than leisure visitors, but it is still an active town with a decent amount of attractions (like the Museum of Contemporary Art and the zoo), good restaurants, a hopping nightlife, and a couple of major sports venues. One of the main draws in the downtown area is Jacksonville Landing, a major dining and entertainment complex, located a short walk from the hotel. San Marco and Southside, on the other bank of St. Johns River, are the up-and-coming nightlife hotspots, with plenty of dining options and good cafes.
