Oyster Review Summary

Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

  • Prime central Sydney location overlooking the harbor
  • Suites have full kitchens with stainless steel appliances
  • Chic 1- or 2-bedroom suites with modern, minimalist decor
  • Big, peaceful indoor pool
  • Fitness room overlooking the pool (though it's small)
  • Luxurious marble bathrooms with soaking tubs and walk-in showers
  • Fine dining restaurant and trendy bar, both with great harbor views
  • Suites have private, furnished balconies with amazing views

Cons

  • Fee for Wi-Fi
  • Fee for parking

Bottom Line

The 68 suites at Pullman Quay Grand Suites don't come cheap -- for a reason. These chic one- and two-bedroom apartment-style units look out over peaceful green gardens or the busy but beautiful harbor, and have floor-to-ceiling windows; modern, minimalist decor; big kitchens; dining areas; and cozy living rooms. They're perhaps not quite as luxurious as some may expect for the price, but they're still among Sydney's best accommodations. Amenities include a peaceful indoor pool and small, unexceptional fitness room. The property also features a fine dining restaurant and a trendy bar, both with great harbor views. It's a prime place to stay with an excellent location in Circular Quay, but with rates this high, the fees for Wi-Fi and parking feel like nickel-and-diming.

Oyster Hotel Review

 Location

In the Circular Quay area, in view of Sydney Harbor bridge

Perched between Sydney Cove and the famous opera house, there are few spots more picturesque in Sydney than this one. Quay Grand Suites is within walking distance of Circular Quay, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Rocks area. The rest of Sydney's hot spots are just a short cab ride away. It's a bit removed from the heart of the Central Business District, but for many, the stunning views make it a worthwhile trade-off.

Sydney is Australia's most populous city and its cultural hub. Festivals, theater, fashion, and a famous opera house can all be found here, along with the retail and restaurants that naturally accompany them. The weather is excellent, with an average of 300 sunny days a year, and beaches are within a short drive from the city center.

  • 19-minute drive to Sydney Airport
  • 5-minute walk to Circular Quay, historically the shipping heart of Sydney, now a recreational space with ferry
  • 8-minute walk to Sydney Opera House
  • 8-minute walk to the Museum of Contemporary Art
  • 11-minute walk to the Rocks Market for kitschy trinkets and souvenirs
  • 18-minute walk to Sydney Harbor Bridge
  • 6-minute drive o Sydney Aquarium
  • 9-minute drive to Darling Harbor for clubbing
  • 10-minute drive to Oxford Street for Sydney's healthy gay scene
  • 17-minute drive to Bondi Beach
  • 18-minute drive to Tamarama Beach (premium territory for serious surfers)
  • 18-minute drive Bronte Beach for family-centric beach time
  • 46-minute drive to Botany Bay National Park
