The uninspiring architecture of the era is improved by and partly covered with an explosion of colorful, pretty flowers along its wood-slat balconies. Run by the Dei Cas family, the interiors really have a strong homey vibe, albeit with upmarket aspirations -- plush sofas sit around a blazing stone-clad fireplace illuminated by flamboyant chandeliers that twinkle above wood-framed, velvet armchairs. The general ambience is warm and welcoming, while mismatched and slightly dated furnishings and decor add to the feel of stepping back in time. Most will find it charming and cozy, though it may be too old-fashioned for some tastes.
