Historic rock-and-roll crash pad
The Days Inn Chicago, located in a historic 1920s building, was once known as the Rock and Roll Days Inn: Famous past guests include Kurt Cobain, Sheryl Crowe, Radiohead, the Dave Matthews Band, and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Lincoln Park neighborhood, close to Wrigley Field
Located in the Lincoln Park area, the hotel is a short drive to the Lincoln Park Zoo and Wrigley Field (where the Cubs play). Major attractions like the Magnificent Mile, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Willis Tower are within a 15-minute drive.
Clean, with basic contemporary decor
Rooms are plain, with brown carpeting, beige walls, and simple furniture. But they're immaculately maintained and impressively equipped (free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and safes; some rooms have microwaves and mini-fridges). Bathrooms are also basic, but spotless, and have wall-mounted hairdryers, basic toiletries, and shower/tub combos. Rooms facing the street may get noise from outside traffic and nearby bars, but the hotel provides ear plugs.
Few freebies: Wi-Fi and gym access
There aren't many on-site features at the property. The property does not have a fitness center, but does provide access to LA Fitness next door (with an indoor track, lap pool, sauna, and whirlpool). There's a daily fee for valet parking, but Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. There are also vending machines, an ice machine, laundry facilities, and a 24-hour front desk staff. Pets aren't allowed.
