Almost everything about the property feels unremarkable, from the clean but boring pool to the sophisticated yet sleepy lobby. While the generic hotel chain decor doesn't hurt the appearance of the rooms, it doesn't help either. But cleanliness and ample space help make up for the run-of-the-mill look, as does the hotel's prime location in the heart of Downtown Dallas. The one boredom-redeeming trait for some, perhaps, is the hotel's restaurant, Thrive -- a chic, modern space, serving upscale New American cuisine, that doubles as one of the area's most popular nightclubs later in the evening.
