With its extensive spa menu and numerous pools and tubs, the upscale Hotel Euroterme is a modern adaptation of those 19th-century resorts where one went to "take the waters." With 254 rooms and both the spa and pools open to day visitors, it hardly feels intimate and personal – and, indeed, the main thermal pool can get packed with children on summer afternoons, and the buffet restaurant feels chaotic at times. However, the hotel does have nearly every spa amenity guests could want, and personalized wellness packages can be arranged. The food in both restaurants is quite good, and the lounge elegant enough, with its blend of quirky modern Italian style and French hunting lodge accents. The contemporary lobby is decorated with a silver fireplace and cacti. Outside, there's a gorgeous patio landscaped with flowers and set with a white sand pit and hanging cushioned swings. The overall atmosphere is generally quite casual. The resort tends to attract a mix of weekending urban couples, families, foreigners looking for a relaxing stopover, and longtime regulars.

The hot springs at Bagno di Romagna have been popular since Roman times, and the towns in the surrounding area sprang up as a result. Hotel Euroterme is one of a handful of spa retreats in the town, and the historic city center is just a few minutes away on foot; the town itself is small but picturesque, with a handful of local restaurants and shops. The nearest larger town, San Piero in Bagno, is a five-minute drive or easy bike-ride away, and the closest major city, Florence, is two hours away by car. The towns are set at the base of a valley, so there are numerous hiking trails available to active guests in the warmer months. Parking at the hotel is free. 

The rooms at the Hotel Euroterme range from small and almost spartan in aesthetic to larger suites that seem inspired by the 1970s, with shimmering, neutral-toned fabrics and clean-lined day-bed sofas. All are notably clean, and have varying sizes of private balconies, some of which overlook the parking lot, while others look out on the surrounding hills. The ensuite bathrooms are especially clean and modern, with stone tile-work, stylish fixtures, and walk-in rainfall showers. All rooms have a "spa kit" with bathrobes, slippers, and a bag, as well as a minibar and flat-screen satellite TV.

There are two restaurants on site – a bistro and a buffet – both serving fresh and healthy local cuisine, with fresh bread made in-house daily; the bistro is a better option for those who don't like crowds, as the buffet restaurant, where breakfast is also served, can feel a bit chaotic in the high season. The hotel also has a large outdoor patio, stylish bar, bicycles to borrow, fitness center, and free Wi-Fi.
