Pros
- Waterfront property located in Old Town Key West
- Big rooms come with up-to-date amenities
- Full resort, with shops, kids’ activities, concierge, and boat rentals
- Stunning sunset views from some rooms and the restaurants
- Three restaurants and a snack bar on-site
- Private beach at sister property on Sunset Key (short ferry ride away)
- In-room massage services available
- Free Internet access (both wired and wireless)
Cons
- Noise from the nearby cruise dock
- Rooms feel slightly bare, with little art and furniture
- The spa is located at the sister property on Sunset Key
- Some bathrooms feel cramped
Bottom Line
This 178-room waterfront hotel in Old Town Key West is a real resort, with dozens of features, including boat rentals, shops, a fitness center, and a marina. However, it’s not quite up to the standards of other luxury properties, with somewhat bare contemporary rooms, cramped bathrooms, a pool that's a bit small for the size of the hotel, and a location right by a busy and noisy cruise ship dock. There’s nothing really bad about the resort, but there’s nothing outstanding either -- it’s just slightly better than adequate. Also, some of the amenities, like the spa, are at the sister property on Sunset Key, a 7-minute boat ride from the hotel.

Location
A waterfront resort located in lively Old Town Key West -- but right by a busy cruise port
The hotel is in a convenient location near Mallory Square, within walking distance of many attractions, including trolley tours, the aquarium, and Ripley's Believe It or Not. The cruise port is also nearby, which makes this area a busy tourist hub. Lively Duval Street, with its bars, shops, and restaurants, is two blocks away.
Key West is the westernmost of the Florida Keys, and is definitely the most convenient if what you’re looking for is nightlife, as well as great diving, shops, restaurants, and decent beaches -- all within a few blocks. It can feel like a bit of a tourist trap with its tacky bars, hordes of cruise ship passengers, and T-shirt shops, but it’s one of the few Keys that has historic sites to visit. On the literary side, Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams spent a big part of their lives here, and their homes have now been turned into museums.
