This bright and airy hotel has a friendly vibe throughout and nautical decor that suits the location. The lobby has large windows, wooden floors, colorful area rugs, and multicolored comfortable seating. Free coffee, tea, and newspapers are available throughout the day. The Dockside Grill has both indoor and outdoor dining and features light-wood furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and green and blue seating. More nautical decorations and flat-screen TVs add to the indoor bar area and all of the tables have vases with fresh flowers. The outdoor Tiki Bar has picnic tables, fire pits, and plenty of pale blue beach chairs with views out on the harbor. Next to the bar is a pier with a wood deck and picnic tables along with a plant-filled garden with wooden chairs and tables and a lovely fountain feature. The property's location next to the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center make it a good choice for business travelers and convention attendees. 

The Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside sits right on Charlotte Harbor, right by the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center and a five-minute walk from Gilchrist Park. Bayshore Live Oak Park, Port Charlotte Beach Park, and the Three Palms Speedway are all around a 10-minute drive, while Port Charlotte Town Center and the Charlotte Sports Park take closer to 15 minutes. Manatee Park and the Lee Civic Center are a half-hour drive from the hotel, while the Southwest Florida International Airport is 40 minutes.

Rooms are simple and cozy and have blue accent walls, nautical curtains and artwork, and brown patterned carpets. Many have harbor views. Features include mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and 47-inch wall-mounted flat-screen TVs. Bottled water comes free, and microwaves can be arranged, for a fee. All rooms are outfitted with the chain's Four Points by Sheraton Four Comfort Beds, which are known for their plushness. Bathrooms are bright and white, with sliding barn doors with portholes and walk-in showers. While pets are welcome, there's a limit of two dogs per room and each must weigh less than 30 pounds. 

The hotel's outdoor pool sits on a brick deck alongside a hot tub with a simple spout-style fountain feature. There's also an on-site restaurant, The Dockside Grill, which serves American cuisine and local craft beers. The Tiki Bar has live music, cocktails, and various snacks. Room service is also available, though hours are limited. The fitness center is open 24/7 and has both cardio machines and free weights. There's also free hotel-wide Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center with a couple of computers, a small store with snacks and sundries, and a beach volleyball court. The hotel also has free loaner bikes for guests to borrow.
