Bottom Line

This mid-range all-inclusive resort in Costa Calma has a decent range of facilities, suitable for families and couples. The 166 spacious suites are simply decorated, and come with flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges, plus balconies or terraces -- but no air-conditioning. There are four swimming pools, including two for children, a kids' club and a play area, and a tennis court. Nightly entertainment features a mini-disco. One buffet restaurant serves a variety of food on an all-inclusive basis, but some guests also like to visit the local restaurants nearby for more diversity. Expect to pay extra for Wi-Fi and use of the in-room safes. The biggest downside here is that the resort is a 17-minute walk to the beach. Hotel Royal Suite

Scene

Family-friendly and all-inclusive resort with a relaxed vibe

Situated in the tourist area of Costa Calma, the resort attracts families and mature couples looking for a quiet resort. The lobby is furnished with black wrought iron patio furniture sets, plus a leather massage chair and potted plants. Outside, communal areas are well-established with towering palm trees, and are well-maintained on the whole, but during our 2017 visit we noticed broken glass on paths near bedrooms, and a few areas where cleanliness could be improved. Guests (a mix of families and older couples) can be found relaxing by the outdoor or indoor pools. Sports facilities like the tennis and volleyball court are popular with older children. Overall, a reasonable choice for a relaxed family holiday, with plenty of activities in and around the resort.
