Located inside a renovated 19th-century Ottoman mansion in the historic Sultanahmet District, The Home Suites is an intimate boutique hotel with a welcoming atmosphere. Sitting on a cobblestone street, its tall wooden-house exteriors stick out and immediately grabs attention among the surrounding hotels. Interiors are cozy and classic; antique furnishings and artwork give the hotel a charming feel. The Terrace Restaurant has the best spot in the hotel lovely panoramic views of the Blue Mosque, Little Hagia Sophia, and Marmara Sea from the hotels' rooftop. The spa is quite simple in design, with the minimal decor and furniture giving it a slightly cold feel. The fitness center is also a bit small and has little natural light, though a decent selection of cardio and weight-training equipment. While there is a business center and meeting rooms available, The Home Suites mostly attracts leisure travelers, including families and couples.

The Home Suites is located in the most historical part of Istanbul, the Sultanahmet District, where many popular historical sites are located. Surrounded by other hotels, restaurants, cafes, and shops, there is plenty to do in the immediate surrounding area. It's a five-minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts. Sultanahmet Square is an eight-minute walk from the hotel. Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern are both 10-minutes' on foot. Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, and the Archaeological Museum are each a 15-minute walk from the hotel. There's a bus stop within a three-minute walk from the hotel and it's a 30-minute drive to Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

Each of the 34 guest rooms at The Home Suites have a classic charm, though some guests may find the look to be a bit dated and the rooms a bit on the small side. Decor includes parquet flooring, antique-style furniture, light walls and linens, dark draped-back curtains, and limited artwork. All units include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, free bottled water, tea- and coffee-making facilities, desks, safes, telephones, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include shower/tub combos, hairdryers, magnifying mirrors, and house-brand toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in all rooms and suites.

The Executive Suites feature a balcony and cater for up to four guests. The Connected Suites include two bedrooms and two bathrooms and cater for up to seven guests. Note that past guests have reported maintenance issues, mostly due to plumbing and faulty air conditioners. 

Apart from its location, The Home Suites' best feature is its rooftop restaurant. The a la carte Terrace Restaurant has beautiful panoramic views of the city. The restaurant serves a selection of local and international cuisines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a simple continental buffet breakfast included in all room rates. Room service is available. There's a Lobby Bar for a selection of local and imported drinks, while the Vitamin Bar in the Spa Wellness Center serves light dishes, cocktails, and healthy fruit juices. A selection of relaxation treatments are on offer at the Spa and Wellness Center, including a sauna and Turkish hammam. There's also a fitness center with dated cardio and weight-training equipment, along with personal training classes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Additional features include business center, meeting rooms, concierge, private dining and catering, and airport transfers (for a fee).
