Beach House Villas

The Beach House Villas comprises multiple white, multistory buildings jutting from between palm trees on a stunning white sand beach. The overall vibe here is casual, and though the style throughout is simple and straight forward, there's a dash of romance too, with wraparound porches and roof decks that provide views of sunsets over the ocean. The grounds are landscaped with potted plants and tropical flowers, while coconut, mango, and palm trees create shade and privacy. Friendly cats roam the property, greeting guests, and meowing for attention. Common areas at this resort are generally limited to its outdoor spaces, including the lush gardens, patio, sun decks, and beach. Covered outdoor patio seating is available at the beach-facing Ocean Breeze restaurant, a laid-back spot for a bite or a drink. Chairs on the beach provide lounging opportunities for sunbathers, and palapas offer shade. The apartment-style lodging makes it popular with families, though the hotel is also a good choice for traveling groups of friends, couples, and destination weddings.

Beach House Villas occupies a coveted spot right on Negril's famous Seven Mile Beach, a white stretch of sand lapped by turquoise waters. The road that runs parallel to the beach is jammed with other similar low-key lodgings, along with plenty of tourist friendly shops and services, including diving outfitters. The Negril Hills Golf Club -- a 15-minute drive away -- has an 18-hole golf course, as well as tennis courts and a pro shop. Many sports and excursions, like biking and horseback riding, can be found within a five- to 10-minute walk along Norman Manley Boulevard. Barney's Hummingbird Garden, where visitors can hold hummingbird feeders while the birds come and drink, takes less than 10 minutes to reach by car. Sangster International Airport, near Montego Bay, is a 90-minute drive from the hotel. 

The units at the Beach House Villas are simple and homey, with attractive local touches. Handsome bamboo and rattan furniture is set throughout, alongside local wood carvings, while beaded curtains separate rooms in multi-bedroom units. Rooms range from Studio apartments to Two-Bedroom Condos. Apartments are air-conditioned and have French doors that open onto private decks or patios, some of which include hammocks hanging amid palms and tropical flowers. All units feature safes and flat-screen TVs with cable plus DVD players in some units. There are also full kitchens with large refrigerators, good counter space, coffeemakers, toasters, and electric stoves with four burners in each unit. Note that Beach House Villas is a smoker-friendly establishment, and some rooms come with ashtrays. Bathrooms are likewise simple and straightforward, and are a bit dated, with chipped wood veneer cabinets, terra cotta tiling, and walk-in showers. They come with limited toiletries, and guests who need more than bar soap should plan on bringing their own. The Garden House Villa doesn't get the best natural light and some of the units closer to the road can pick up traffic noise. 

This small hotel has limited features, and instead is ideal for travelers seeking a bit of independence in a prime beachside setting. The on-site Ocean Breeze Restaurant -- open only during high season -- offers traditional American fare, seafood, and pasta. Breakfast is not included in room rates, and room service is available. There is free (but not always reliable) Wi-Fi throughout, and free parking in a small, cramped lot. While airport transfers cost extra for adults, children under 3 ride for free. Nanny services are available for a fee and laundry and massage services can be arranged through the front desk.There is no pool at this property.
