Vienna House Andel’s Cracow

Located in a boxy concrete building on a city square right across from Krakow’s main train station, Vienna House Andel's Cracow announces its style immediately. With chic, clean lines and a modern-art vibe, the hotel is predominated by fresh white walls, bright lights, and red accents. The white lobby has inset lighting, and its white-tile floors show off rich, black leather couches and red-accented ottomans. Abstract art adorns the walls. Andel's is known for promoting the arts, and it's decorated with new artwork throughout the year, and the property hosts art and photo exhibitions to showcase the work of both new and experienced artists. Five well-equipped meeting rooms for conferences, and the hotel’s proximity to local sights, make Andel's popular with business travelers, vacationing couples, and families.

Situated about a 10-minute walk from the heart of Krakow, Andel's faces a main road on one side and a small city square on the other. The hotel shares the square with the Galeria Krakowska shopping mall and the Krakow Glowny train station, a main transport hub. From the hotel, it’s about a 10-minute walk to some of Krakow’s most popular tourist attractions, such as Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny), St. Mary’s Basilica, and Wawel Royal Castle.

Like the common areas, guest room decor is chic and modern. While rooms vary in size, the decor is similar, with white, purple-gray, and dark-brown wood walls. Bright orange accents contrast with crisp, white bed linens, while dark-wood furniture (all new as of 2014) features leathery red detailing. Even the smallest rooms include work desks and chairs, and sitting areas with eclectic modern furniture. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful city views, especially for those staying in higher-floor rooms that face the square. 

All rooms are air-conditioned, and come with minibars, coffee and tea facilities, flat-screen TVs with international channels and DVD players, free water, safes, and free Wi-Fi. 

Bathrooms are chic and roomy, fully tiled in beige and black, some accented with purple strip lighting bright vanities with orange backdrops, and include hairdryers and toiletries. Bathrooms include vessel sinks and wet-room style showers, which sometimes share floor space with toilets. Some bathrooms have small bathtubs, separate from the showers.

The on-site Delight Restaurant and Oscar’s Bar are the hotel’s most stylish gathering spots. The restaurant has rich black-and-red accents and such modern design details as curved walls and a circular recessed ceiling. It serves a seasonal menu of Polish dishes. Outdoor seating is available in warm weather. Oscar’s Bar is similarly stylish, with moody bar lighting and armchairs with velvety striped cushions. A breakfast buffet is available with hot and cold foods, and while some packages do include it, breakfast is not part of the standard room rate.

The hotel has five conference rooms that can fit up to 320 people and are equipped with multimedia technology, and can be broken out to accommodate groups of different sizes. There's also a banquet hall that can fit up to 150 people, and a banquet manager to help with weddings. 

An on-site spa and sauna includes a massage studio, relaxation area, Finnish sauna, exquisite bright-green tiled showers, and a changing area/locker room. The fitness area is located in a tasteful but small, windowless room, and has only offers a few cardio machines. 

The hotel provides a free check-in drink, free daily newspapers in the common areas, turndown service, and free overnight shoe shines. Kids’ menus, cribs, and extra beds are also available. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
