Bottom Line

The two-and-a-half-pearl Hotel Mediterrani is a pleasant, contemporary property perched on a cliff high above the sea that's a two-minute walk from the beach. Open seasonally, the Mediterrani has excellent waterfront views from its public spaces, and from many of its 43 airy and modern guest rooms. They all have wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi, and many have balconies with sea views, but they lack kettles. Features here are limited, although there's a free hot buffet breakfast with regional specialties, and a bar that serves tapas and other light fare. Travelers seeking a stay with a swimming pool might consider the nearby Hotel Alga, but it's farther from the beach.

Hotel Mediterrani

Scene

Leisure travelers have breakfast on the outdoor terrance and take in sea views

Hotel Mediterrani is housed in a converted 1930s villa on well-landscaped grounds with trees and shrubs. The lobby has an eye-pleasing mix of contemporary and antique wood furniture and a fireplace, plus decorative accents that are original to the property. The space is inviting, and guests gather here, and on the outdoor terrace, to sip drinks and nibble tapas from the lobby bar while taking in the prime views. The hotel tends to draw European couples and some families looking for accommodations with an intimate, friendly atmosphere.

Features

Free hot breakfast, lobby bar with tapas, and free Wi-Fi throughout, but fee for parking

There aren't a ton of features at the property, but there is a free hot breakfast buffet served in a room with sea views. The spread features fresh Spanish tortillas, cured salmon, Catalan sausage, cakes, pastries, cereal, and yogurt, and meals can be taken to the outdoor terrace. The lobby bar serves light fare like salads and tapas, and also has excellent water views. Other amenities include a 24-hour front desk, bicycle rental, free loaner umbrellas, and free Wi-Fi throughout. On-site parking (for a fee) is available, but the lot is difficult to find, and guests are encouraged to ask for directions in advance. Accessing the beach requires quite a few steps, which may be difficult for travelers with limited mobility.
