The building itself is simply furnished, with a plain exterior and a basic reception area with a few chairs and an IKEA chandelier. However, guests should know that reception is rather non-existent -- the property is generally unmanned, though there's occasionally someone at reception -- so instructions to access the property are sent via email (the manager is very responsive).

Buses run every 10 minutes for a 15-minute journey into the center from a stop close to the hotel. The property is also 18 minutes on foot from the beach, and 15 minutes from the city's botanical garden, city zoo, and a public pool. There's a popular pub opposite the hotel, as well as a Domino's nearby, and it's very close to a supermarket. Keflavík International Airport is about a 45-minute drive by car.
