La Bitta Arbatax

La Bitta attracts couples of all ages looking for a quiet vacation where they can balance poolside and beachfront lounging. There are few kid-friendly facilities here, making for a romantic, relaxing vibe. Opened in 1967 by the Bovi family, the property is decorated inn a traditional Sardinian style, featuring hand-painted majolica tiles, mint-green accents, and lots of archways. While the restaurant has an old-fashioned design with patterned chair cushions and salmon tablecloths, the bar is more modern with its light-wood floors and wicker seating, though both offer stunning panoramic sea vistas. This property is best for couples looking to laze their days away on-site.

Situated along Porto Frailis bay, with a private section of the sandy beach, La Bitta has a scenic location. It's within the quiet port town of Arbatax, which doesn't offer much, though there are some shops, restaurants, and bars in the area. It's a 10-minute drive to Tortoli, a small city with a number of important archaeological and historical sites. Expect a two-hour drive to Cagliari Elmas Airport and 20 minutes longer to Costa Smeralda Airport in Olbia. 

Rooms at La Bitta are homey and bright, decorated in a typical Sardinian style with mosaics made out of hand-painted majolica tiles, terra-cotta tile floors, and painted wooden furniture. Some add wrought-iron bed frames, brick accent walls, and ceilings painted to resemble the clouds. While some units have furnished terraces, some only have tiny balconies. All units have flat-screen TVs, desks, air-conditioning, minibars, and closets with safes. Bathrooms have small shower stalls, bidets, and free toiletries. Upgraded units have terraces with hot tubs. 

The standout here is the direct access to the sandy beach, of which the hotel has a roped-off section. It's lined with loungers and umbrellas, plus a few kayaks are available for rent. Overlooking the ocean is the medium-sized infinity pool, which is surrounded by sunbeds and a hammock. For further relaxation, a small spa offers a range of massage and body treatments, which can take place in an open pergola overlooking the Mediterranean. A Turkish bath is also available, but there's no gym. 

All rates include a free buffet breakfast served in the Ristorante Le Colonne, which also serves dinner for those staying on half-board packages. The other restaurant serves a la carte Sardinian cuisine with views over the bay. A terrace bar serves drinks and snacks, and also offers lovely sea vistas. 

Staff can arrange a variety of excursions, including speedboat trips along the coast, yacht cruises, and walking tours of the Golgo Plateau. A meeting room with aquarium seats up to 180 people across two rooms. Wi-Fi is free and accessibly throughout the hotel.
