This stylish, 110-room boutique in Downtown Atlanta, part of Marriott's high-end Autograph Collection, is a hotel with a conscience: It's inside an adaptive reuse historical building; rooms have smart thermostats to conserve energy; high-end H20 bath products are organic; and the linens are fair trade. Although standard rooms are on the small side for the city, and can be a bit dark, they come with iPod docks and (albeit small) flat-screen TVs, as well as contemporary, upscale decor. The hotel's rooftop bar -- which boasts stunning views of the city -- is a highlight.

In the heart of Downtown Atlanta, Glenn Hotel is near the business district and numerous tourist attractions.
Once sparsely populated and somewhat seedy, Downtown Atlanta now draws crowds year-round. The neighborhood started as a business and financial hub (and it still is), but it has slowly become one of the most interesting areas in the city for tourists as well as for locals. The Georgia Dome, home to the Atlanta Falcons, and Philips Arena, home to the Atlanta Hawks, can both be found downtown, as can the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world.
