Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators.
This 687-room luxury hotel — renovated in 2010 — is in the Loop neighborhood, near Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. Big rooms have separate soaking tubs and showers (which even pricier hotels like the Ritz-Carlton lack), iPod docks and 42-inch flat-screen TVs. Add an excellent Asian restaurant, a wine bar, a spa, and stunning design by David Rockwell, and you've got one of Chicago's most luxurious hotels in this price range. But you'll have to pay extra for just about everything, including parking, the fitness center, and Wi-Fi.

The Fairmont is located in the Loop, three blocks from Lake Michigan, a block south of the Chicago River, and two blocks north of Millennium Park and Grant Park. The Loop is Chicago's business district, but it's also home to the Theatre District, major cultural institutions, historic buildings and famous parks.
Grant Park is home to popular sites like Museum Campus, the Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Chicago Riverwalk, a river-level walkway along Wacker Drive between Michigan Avenue and Franklin Street. Millennium Park features Frank Gehry's Jay Pritzker Pavilion, which can seat 11,000, plus public art like the Cloud Gate.
The hotel is also a short walk from the Magnificent Mile, an iconic stretch of North Michigan Avenue known for upscale shopping.
