The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront

The 19-floor Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront primarily attracts business travelers, but tourists also stay here since the Vancouver sights are within walking distance. Aside from a modern marquee that reads “Pinnacle Hotel,” the exterior of this 1975-era property looks dated. Interiors were renovated in about 2009, so they feel newer. Contemporary touches in the lobby include pendant light fixtures over the front desk. An atrium ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright atmosphere in the P2B Bistro and Bar. A courtyard also offers outdoor seating, but the floor tiles are in a state of disrepair. Striped blue window designs also make for a fun setting in the gym. 

The Pinnacle is located in downtown Vancouver, the financial district, a five-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Center. It’s 10 minutes on foot to Canada Place and the cruise ship terminal, while the Seawall that leads to Stanley Park is five minutes away using one of the hotel's free loaner bicycles. The Waterfront Skytrain, which goes to the Science World, is also five minutes away on foot, and the hotel provides car service within the downtown Vancouver area. The shops on Robson Street are a 10-minute walk away, while the restaurants in the Denman district are within 20 minutes on foot. It's a half-hour drive to the Vancouver International Airport. 

The use of stripes and colorful decor in the Pinnacle's rooms makes for a contemporary setting. Red-striped carpeting and black-and-white striped headboards pop against light-colored checkered walls. All rooms have 37-inch flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, and safes, and some have mini-fridges. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer Coal Harbor views in Cityside Rooms or water views in Habourside Rooms. The top-floor Presidential Suite has a large terrace, a living room, and a soaking tub set next to a window. Certain rooms need updating and some have old and clunky sliding balcony doors. One-Bedroom Suites have living rooms, two bathrooms, and access to the Club Lounge, which offers perks such as free breakfast. Bathrooms are contemporary, with shower/tub combos, makeup mirrors, and huge granite countertops. The hotel donates unused toiletries to the needy.

The hotel has plenty of 24-hour facilities that appeal to busy travelers. On the fourth floor is a large fitness center with the type of modern cardio equipment typically found in a commercial gym, including ellipticals, stationary bikes, and treadmills with mini-TVs. Floor-to-ceiling windows brighten the indoor pool, although the pool area showing its age. P2B Bistro and Bar has towering windows with harbor views and offers live music on Fridays. There are 20 different meeting rooms, including the top-floor rotating Vistas 360, that can accommodate up to 720 people. Wi-Fi is provided for free throughout the hotel, and two computers and a printer are in the lobby. The Club Lounge offers breakfast, evening appetizers, a computer and a printer, and a terrace for guests staying in suites.
