Bottom Line

The 264-room Servigroup Orange Hotel is a basic mid-range property offering good value for money in the heart of Benidorm’s nightlife area. Clean rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and contemporary bathrooms, but units overlooking the pool may get noise from nearby bars. The pool is a quiet spot for a relaxing day in the sun, and the restaurant serves a quality buffet for all three meals. A varied breakfast spread is included in all rates. The hotel features a kiddy pool and a playground, but location amid loud bars and clubs makes it better suited for young partiers and couples than families. Those traveling with kids may want to compare rates at sister property Servigroup Nereo, complete with a seasonal kids’ club.

Hotel Servigroup Orange

Scene

Basic mid-range chain hotel popular with young couples and groups of partiers

Located amid bars and clubs, the Servigroup Orange appeals to young groups of friends and couples looking to make the most of the hopping nightlife Benidorm is known for. From the outside the hotel looks just like any other property in the area, with a boxy, white facade and a spacious pool deck packed with loungers. The entrance, on a side pedestrian street, is marked by a metal tunnel flanked by a tropical garden on one side (complete with artificial stones and a waterfall), and a concrete deck on the other. The overall look from the outside is a little passé, and this feel continues in some common areas, especially the TV room, which has old-fashioned couches and dated chairs. Other spaces feel a little fresher, including the restaurant, which features cheerful plastic chairs with orange details, and large windows overlooking the pool deck.

The hotel closed for a few months at the beginning of 2016 to add another floor to the building and repaint all rooms. Units overlooking the pool also got new balcony doors to improve soundproofing, but lower floors still get noise from nearby bars.

Location

In the heart of the nightlife area, a five-minute walk from the beach

The hotel is located on the corner of a busy street lined with pubs, clubs, and shops, and a pedestrian alley with a couple of other popular bars. This is right in the heart of the party area of Benidorm, and the atmosphere is vibrant and loud at night. During the day the vibe is quieter but still busy and lively, with tons of shops and bars offering cheap food and drinks. Long, sandy Levante Beach is just a five-minute walk down the street from the hotel, and Poniente, an even longer stretch of sand, can be found a 20-minute walk away. There's a bus stop a couple of blocks from the hotel for those who prefer to take public transportation. The hotel is also within a 15- to 20-minute walk of Old Town, which has a more local feel and a somewhat mellower vibe. The nearest airport is in Alicante, a 45-minute drive away.

Rooms

Generic rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and some dated details

The Orange Hotel offers 264 rooms decorated in a simple, generic style with an orange-and-yellow color scheme and basic pale wooden furniture. Floral-patterned textiles and artwork of landscapes or roses make the rooms feel a bit tired. Most rooms have somewhat dated white tile floors, but a few have more contemporary wood floors. LCD TVs, mini-fridges, and seasonal air-conditioning are standard in all rooms. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, but there is a fee for use of in-room safes.

Room categories include double units for up to three guests, and single units for solo travelers. Double Rooms (except handicap-friendly units) also have small balconies with a clothes drying rack and a couple of plastic chairs. There are plenty of loud bars right across the street from the hotel, so light sleepers may want to request a room on a higher floor and at the back of the building. Rooms overlooking the pool received soundproofed balcony windows in 2016, but most still get some noise. Bathrooms were renovated in the early 2010s, and have large walk-in showers with cute raspberry-colored tiles, pink floors, and wall-mounted hairdryers. A few basic toiletries are provided in all rooms.

Features

Pool, playground, restaurant, bar, and private parking

Like other hotels in the Servigroup chain, the Orange Hotel offers a decent roster of features for a mid-range property in Benidorm. The hotel’s outdoor pool is long enough for laps, and offers dozens of loungers and a few umbrellas tightly packed into a narrow deck at the front of the property. Additional loungers are available on a separate deck a few steps above the pool, where a small bar serves drinks and a few basic snacks. There is also a kiddy pool connected to the main pool, and a playground with a couple of slides. Breakfast buffet is included in all rates, complete with hot and cold items, and many gluten-free options. The Sanctuary Bar has nice Indonesian-inspired decor, and offers evening shows several times a week, as well as outdoor seating. A few computer workstations are available to guests. The hotel also features a large parking lot on-site where guests can park for a fee.
