LABRANDA Rocca Nettuno Suites

Although from the outside the Rocca Nettuno looks more generic than stylish, interiors here are chic and cute, with a lime-green and white palette, minimalist furniture, and colorful LED lighting. The lobby is fresh and contemporary, with a long white front desk that has a narrow display window decorated with beach pebbles and shells, and a few white cushioned chairs with lime-green accent pillows. High above the front desk, large green leaves are a first taste of the hotel’s nature-inspired decor, which continues in the restaurant and lounge area. Large mural photos of a rainforest decorate the wall behind the bar, and several smaller images of olive tree branches adorn the dining room. With wicker-style black and white furniture, and an accent wall with a curvy design in lime green, the restaurant and bar feel stylish yet casual and cheerful. Green and purple mood lighting lends the space a young, playful vibe, but the hotel draws couples of all ages, as well as families with children. 

The hotel is located on a quiet street near the heart of the action in vibrant Sliema Ferry. There are dozens of restaurants and bars within an easy walking distance, and a couple of shopping centers and strips can be found within a couple of blocks from the hotel. Although tucked away on a quiet block, the Rocca Nettuno is a good base to explore the island, as it is less than five minutes on foot from ferries to Valletta and other parts of Malta, and from a bus stop to with service to St. Julian's and the airport. The Promenade, which runs along the coast and has beautiful sea views, is just a couple of blocks from the hotel as well. The airport is a 25-minute drive away. 

Rocca Nettuno has 40 air-conditioned suites with unfurnished balconies, some offering partial sea views, and some overlooking the street. Decor is simple but cheerful, with lime-green and aquamarine accents, off-white tile floors, and untreated dark wood furniture. Leaf prints on curtains and pillows, along with wicker accents lend rooms an islandy feel. All suites have large separate living areas complete with dining tables and sofa beds for an extra guest or two (depending on room size), and large windows letting in lots of light. All units are equipped with basic cooking facilities, including microwaves, toasters, electric kettles, and full fridges, but no stovetop or sinks. Additionally, all units have free Wi-Fi, large flat-screen TVs, and safes. Bathrooms are clean and appealing, with tan and chocolate-brown tiles, contemporary square sinks on wooden counters, and deep shower/tub combos with glass screens. 

The rooftop pool is the highlight at Rocca Nettuno. Although small and shallow, it is a pleasant spot for a quick dip during the warm months, and a tranquil retreat in the winter. There is seasonal bar service and a handful of loungers, and the deck around the pool offers partial sea views. The hotel’s stylish restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine, including sandwiches made with fresh ingredients, salads, and pizzas. The bar has a nice selection of drinks and snacks, a large screen for sports events, and a lounge area with comfy seating. One small and lightly equipped meeting room is available for rent on an hourly or daily basis, and business and secretarial services are also offered at front desk. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and airport transfer services can be booked for a fee. On-site underground parking is available free of charge.
