AquaGrand Exclusive Deluxe Resort

AquaGrand Exclusive Deluxe Resort is a beautiful, couples-oriented hotel with many artistically designed spaces. Upon entry, guests face a large glass-top table with a driftwood base. Delicate silver birds seem to flit overhead, and a metal tree -- grounded in the bar a floor below -- offers a perch for some. Several alcoves contain seating areas, each with its own style and bright color scheme. The main restaurant is a visual feast with wood floors and ceilings, creating a neutral canvas for an array of colors, textures, and styles that come together to create an appealing space -- think blue and purple backlit wall accents, funky chairs with neon-green and blue patterns, crystal chandeliers, and tabletop candelabras. In bars and around the pool, pairs of large chairs -- the backs of which are shaped as a giant mask -- peer out to sea. All around the lush grounds, guests will find beautiful gardens, artwork, and romantic settings, capped off by a gorgeous view of the bay. Evening entertainment is offered, but the vibe is ultimately quiet and relaxing. 

The hotel is on the eastern coast of Rhodes, a five-minute drive south of Lindos. There is little nearby; besides a few other hotels, the landscape is barren and scrubby. In Lindos, there are bars and restaurants, shopping, and historic sights. The Lindos Acropolis, a popular sight with a gorgeous view, is a four-minute drive from the hotel, and the Church of Panagia in Lindos Square is five minutes. St. Paul’s Bay is a small but extremely popular beach with crystal-clear waters excellent for snorkeling; it is a four-minute drive from the hotel. There is a public bus stop a 12-minute walk away, and there is free parking on-site for those with a car. It is a 50-minute drive to the hotel from Rhodos International Airport, and the port is a 52-minute drive away.

Rooms at this hotel are modern and beautiful. King-size beds, cushy sofas, and tasteful artwork come standard and make for a comfortable, romantic stay. Style varies by room, but generally white walls and wood floors create a neutral base for soft accents, often in blue or purple. All rooms have a minibar, free Wi-Fi, coffeemaker, free safe, and flat-screen TV. Sleek bathrooms offer a bathtub and rainfall shower, as well as a hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers, and Molton Brown bath products. Many rooms have iPod docking stations and DVD players, while upgrades include options for an extra bathroom, whirlpool, sauna, or private pool. Most rooms sleep two people, but maisonettes with two bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep four, plus offer a dining area, living room, whirlpool or sauna, and a private pool.

This hotel has a range of service geared toward couples seeking a relaxing vacation. Multiple restaurants and bars each have their own design, but each is modern with a stylish flair. The main restaurant serves a free American breakfast buffet with local specialties, and a Greek and Mediterranean dinner buffet. A half-board option is available, plus the seafood a la carte restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and there are light snacks and lunches at the pool bar. All meals are well-reviewed by guests, particularly the breakfast buffet and a la carte options. Private gazebos and tables for two are built on the rocks by the sea, which guests may rent for a romantic dinner. 

The large pool is a lovely spot surrounded by greenery. Water cascades into the pool over a stone wall, and there are plenty of sunbeds under tiki umbrellas. The beach also has free sunbeds with comfortable cushions, plus cabanas are available. There are some sandy areas but it gets quite rocky, and nearly impassable at the water’s edge. A pier with ladders provides access to swimmable waters. 

The spa includes rooms for massages and beauty treatments, a hairdresser, and packages for couples. It also has an outdoor pool, sauna, hammam, whirlpool, and fitness room. Some guests find the evening entertainment too lively for an otherwise peaceful resort, though others appreciate the music and simple fun. There is an on-site mini-market, jewelry shop, and an art gallery. Conference space is available, as are services for business travelers. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
