The Ritz-Carlton is a stylish, sophisticated 205-room hotel in the suburb of Las Condes. Its common spaces impress: The lobby has rich wood paneling and shiny marble floors; and both the pool and fitness center are enclosed by glass domes and offer amazing views of Santiago. But the rooms are less impressive, with chain-like decor and some wear and tear (such as stains in the carpets). They do have modern amenities, though, including flat-screen TVs, MP3-capable alarm clocks, and stocked minibars with an assortment of high-end liquors. Luxurious, clean bathrooms feature marble finishes, with big soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers. After a long day of sightseeing, visitors can head up to 100 Grandos Bar for cocktails or unwind at the small spa.
Location
In the business-oriented suburb of Las Condes, with metros and restaurants within walking distance
The Ritz-Carlton is located in the suburb of Las Condes, close to Santiago's financial district. This area has lots of shops and restaurants and is perfect for business travelers. Just three minutes walk from public transport, the location is a great starting point from which to see the rest of Santiago. Skiing and the airport are also less than an hour away.Santiago has long been known as a stopover city used only for connections to other more exciting sites in South America, but in the last 15 years it is gaining ground as a sophisticated metropolis. A purely economic and political center for Chile has given way to increasingly respected dining, great shopping, and lots of bike paths. With a decent underground system, a competitive nightlife, and proximity to the Andes for skiing, Santiago has a lot to offer.- 31-minute drive to Arturo Merino Benitez Airport
