Flamingo Suites

The Flamingo Suites tends to attract a crowd of vacationing tourists from across Europe and Russia, drawn by the prospect of elegant apartment-style suites and a three-minute stroll to the beach. Suites are housed in whitewashed villas with great curved bay windows, clustered around a swimming pool set in a sunny terrace. A grand entrance leads out to the road, with white-plaster columns holding a pitched roof in the manner of a Greek temple. Other than the pool and a small reception room, there isn’t much in the way of communal space at this quiet complex. Guests generally stay in their apartments when on-site, so this is not the spot for those looking to socialize.

Only a three-minute walk from the Playa la Pinta Puerto Colon, the Flamingo Suites has a prime spot in the center of Costa Adeje. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and a supermarket a four-minute walk away. A 10-minute walk leads down to the marina, where there are boats to hire for fishing trips and water sports. Farther afield, Aqualand and Siam Park are both five-minute drives away, for guests in need of an adrenaline rush. Transfers to Tenerife South Airport take roughly 15 minutes by car. 

The Flamingo Suites has just 18 apartments, each of them elegantly decorated with grand classical furnishings in shades of cream and bronze, and vast private terraces. The suites have modern kitchens with full-size fridges, stovetops, kettle, coffeemakers, toasters, microwaves, dishwashers, and various crockery and cookware. Apartments have one or two sizable double bedrooms, each of which has its own bathroom featuring shower cubicles with rainfall showerheads and separate bathtubs. Larger apartments have grand staircases and airy, two-story living rooms with camelback sofas and armchairs. Outdoors, the large terraces have seating areas shaded by gazebos, sun loungers, and greenery, and some of the larger apartments have plunge pools or hot tubs. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, safe, and air-conditioning, as well as a hairdryer and toiletries. Note that some guests have complained of rooms at the front of the hotel suffering from noise.

Because the focus at the Flamingo Suites is on the apartments, the complex has little in the way of amenities to draw guests out of their rooms. At the center of the property is a sunny terrace with palm trees and potted plants, and a small heated swimming pool with a separate, shallow area for kids to splash about in safely. A small spa which offers massage treatments and wellness therapies. A potential downside for some is the lack of a restaurant and gym, but the apartments' kitchens and several nearby restaurants can take care of the first issue. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the complex.
