Newly opened in 2015, the upscale Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel, is a stylish, modern property with some show-stopping features such as a rooftop pool and a private movie theater. Its 171 contemporary, streamlined rooms have large windows and city views and the suites have soaking tubs in their living rooms. Dining is a chic affair in the buffet restaurant and trendy bistro. The Executive Club lounge provides evening cocktails and V.I.P. perks, and there are two meeting spaces. Note that the hotel is in a busy part of town; travelers looking for a property in a quieter location could check out the Villa Song Saigon instead.
Newly opened contemporary hotel with a hip, upscale vibe
Having opened in January of 2015, the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel is an 18-floor high-rise in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City with a hip atmosphere and upscale feel. Mostly young clientele stay here drawn by the chic, modern decor. Golden globed lights dangle in over front desk. A contemporary wired art sculpture hangs from the ceiling over a reflecting pond set at the center of the lobby, and lounge chairs provide seating in alcoves. Greeters dressed in traditional Vietnamese garb stand by the entrance, which has stairs and a ramp near the dining terrace. Unlike any other hotel in the city, guests here can catch a movie on site at the CVG Liberty Citypoint that shows new releases in three modern theaters with a concession stand.
In the heart of Ho Chi Minh City's District 1, walking distance to city attractions
Ho Chi Minh City has a population of over seven million, so it’s no surprise that this central location is busy and noisy. Situated at the intersection of Pasteur Street and Le Loi Boulevard in the city center's District 1, this hotel is within easy walking distance of the central business district and plenty of area attractions. Many sights are within a 10-minute walking radius, including Ben Thanh Market (seven minutes), the Opera House (six minutes), the Central Post Office (eight minutes), and the Saigon Notre Dame Basilica (eight minutes). Tan Son Nhat International Airport is a 20- to 25-minute drive away, and the famous Chu Chi tunnels are a 75-minute drive.
Contemporary, sleek rooms and suites with city views and modern conveniences
Guest rooms are contemporary, fresh, and bright, with light-wood floors and large windows that overlook Ho Chi Minh City. A certain streamlined, Scandinavian look dominates the decor with long work surfaces in matte black and armchairs upholstered in crosshatched gray fabric. Jaunty stripes add a graphic punch of color in rugs, artwork, and throw pillows. Rooms have built-in desks and closets with safes, bathrobes, irons, and slippers. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, kettles, and minibars, plus a couple of bottles of free mineral water. Sleek bathrooms are stocked with hairdryers and have modern, glass walk-in showers with glass walls that look out onto rooms. (Shades can be pulled down for privacy.)
Deluxe Rooms -- located on the lower floors -- are the smallest option. Premier City View Rooms are a little larger and sit on higher floors. The one-bedroom Liberty Central Suites feature sleek leather furniture in living rooms, and access to the Executive Lounge. It’s all about the views in the top-floor Signature City View Rooms on the top floors, which have floor-to-ceiling windows in the bathrooms and come with Executive Lounge access. Executive Club Rooms also include lounge access.
Rooftop pool and bar, stylish dining and cocktails, executive lounge, posh spa, and modern gym
Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint has all the lush amenities expected of a high-end hotel, plus a few surprising extras. The property has a chic pool on the 19th floor with panoramic city views, egg-shaped cabana beds in the water, and terrace-shaded lounge chairs. As of early 2016, the pool bar was under construction.
Other features include an on-site movie theater screening new releases and a computer corner in the lobby with two PCs. The Executive Lounge is open to guests staying in upper-category rooms and provides evening cocktails plus light snacks and beverages throughout the day. Other Lounge offerings include business services and access to the Venus meeting room. Two other meeting rooms -- the Apollo and Jupiter -- are also available for rent. The spa on the 18th floor offers a nail/hair salon, a sauna, a steam room, and an industrial-looking gym with treadmills facing floor-to-ceiling windows, free weights, Pilates balls, and other modern equipment.
Central Restaurant serves international and Vietnamese fare buffet-style in a stylish dining room with terrace seating. The trendy Bistro serves cocktails and coffee and hosts a tapas hour with live music on the weekends. There's also a dining room, Libra, which is available for private dinners for up to 20 guests.
