Bottom Line

Opened in early 2011, this beautiful boutique hotel is arguably one of the most unique and serene properties in bohemian Palermo Hollywood. With just 12 rooms and simple but stylish modern decor throughout, it is a wonderful retreat from busy Buenos Aires, even with a location in the thick of the action. Large, sun-drenched rooms are clean and contemporary, with flat-screen TVs, floor-to-ceiling windows, trendy bathrooms with jetted tubs, and a few colorful accents. The gorgeous rooftop Jacuzzis with city views and a sauna take R&R to a new level. Book a room facing the tiny back garden for quieter weekend nights.

Ilum Experience Home

Location

In the heart of Palermo Hollywood, steps from Palermo Viejo’s hopping nightlife

The Ilum Experience Hotel is located three blocks from the train tracks that separate Palermo Hollywood from Palermo Soho, on a tree-lined cobblestone street that comes alive during the weekends. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, and hotels in the immediate neighborhood, and though not as many as in Palermo Soho, quite a few interesting shops. The subway is located on the corner of Santa Fe and Juan B. Justo avenues, a 15-minute walk from the property.

Though slightly less gentrified than the nearby Palermo Soho, and attracting an older and thus quieter crowd, Palermo Hollywood is home to beautiful historic buildings and cobblestone streets that also characterize Palermo Soho. Both neighborhoods are part of huge Palermo, nowadays one of the chicest and most hopping districts, located in the northeast of Buenos Aires.
