Pros
- Centrally located in the Miraflores district
- Spacious rooms with comfortable bedding and large bathrooms
- Modern bathrooms with rain showerheads (some have Jacuzzi tubs)
- Flat-screen TVs with satellite channels
- Small spa with great treatments and salon services
- Delicious restaurant serves authentic Peruvian cuisine
- Free Wi-Fi
Cons
- Long walk to the beach
- Decor and furniture in rooms are worn and dated
- No fitness center or pool
- On-site restaurant is practically indistinguishable from the lobby
- Some rooms have views of brick walls
Bottom Line
The Antara Hotel is a small 27-room property with an equally small (but attractive) lobby with Spanish Colonial-style decor. Even though the rooms are spacious with wood-burning chimeneas (some also have charming small patios), the decor is a tad dated and some furniture appears worn. The bathrooms have a slightly more modern look, and are clean with rain showerheads and polished granite countertops (plus Jacuzzi tubs in some). The property lacks in amenities (there's no fitness center or pool), but it does have a spa with great treatments, and its location in the heart of Miraflores -- within walking distance of parks, shops, and restaurants -- is a big draw.

Location
In the heart of Miraflores, a charming area of Lima near the beach with plenty of restaurants and shopping
The Antara is located in the heart of Milaflores, which is a safe and popular area with Peruvians and international tourists alike.
Most visitors to Lima flock straight to Miraflores, which is widely known for its shopping areas, gardens, well-maintained parks, and beaches. It's one of Lima's more upscale areas and is a cultural center with theaters, galleries, and cinemas. The area is home to many hotels, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and stores that are popular with both tourists and locals: Calle de Las Pizzas ("Pizza Street") is lined with pubs and bars that are filled with teenagers and young adults (especially on the weekends). The beaches here are popular with surfers and sunbathers alike (especially during the hot summer months) and are a great alternative to walking around in unbearably warm weather.
- 33-minute drive to J Chavez International Airport
- 8-minute walk to Miraflores Central Park
- 7-minute drive to the Larcomar shopping mall
- 7-minute drive to Huaca Pucllana, the only remaining pre-Incan ruin in the area
- 8-minute drive to Museo Amano, a museum of pre-Columbian artifacts
- 9-minute drive to the beach
