Bottom Line
This quirky, bed and breakfast-style hotel has 16 villas, all artistically designed around a certain theme, including the Wagon Wheel villa with a functioning water wheel on the entry door and covered wagon-style bed. Unique amenities include a bread maker with a fresh loaf upon arrival, filling the rooms with the scent of fresh-baked bread. New Orleans native Michael Merilli, prepares a five-course breakfast every morning and can also be called upon as a personal chef. Such services don’t come cheap, and the themed rooms may not be every traveler’s cup of tea, but you’d be hard pressed to find something quite so creative.

Landscaped property with artistically decorated villas
Adobe-style buildings sit on flower-filled grounds with a small pool. The lobby has a luxuriously rustic feeling, setting a relaxed atmosphere for the property. The low key, homey vibe continues in the big, ornate rooms, filled with impressive details. The Wagon Wheel villa includes a covered wagon-style bed, hanging lanterns, and an animal skull over the stone fireplace, while the shabby-chic blue headboard of the French Quarter room resembles a building facade in New Orleans.

The bread makers are located in the small kitchenettes, which adhere to each villa’s theme and are equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, dishes, and cutlery. There are baskets of free snacks and rooms come with fireplaces and flat-screen TVs. The big bathrooms, which continue each room’s theme, have jetted tubs and walk-in waterfall showers.
