The Rosewood Sand Hill is located on Sand Hill Road, which is like the Wall Street of the venture capital and technology industries. But even though this is may be one of the best hotels for business travelers in the country, casual pleasure seekers come from all over to take advantage of the area's gorgeous climate, which tends to be warmer and less rainy than San Francisco and Palo Alto.
Originally the site of vast prune orchards, Silicon Valley became epicenter of America's tech industry. But tech geeks and entrepreneurs aren't the only ones attracted to the home of Google, Facebook and Stanford University. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions nearby, and even more a short drive away in San Jose, Palo Alto and Santa Clara (not to mention nearby San Francisco).
Supporters of the arts will enjoy the area's theater offerings (including the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford) and nearby artists' boutiques. Nature lovers will find plenty of activities here, from hiking in Nearby Santa Cruz Mountains to exploring nearby parks. Make sure to rent a car to get around; this is the suburbs, after all.
