1.
Moda Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls
A small, upper-middle-range boutique hotel in Downtown Vancouver, the Moda Hotel offers reasonably priced rooms in a convenient location near Robson Square. The popular wine bar and excellent Italian restaurant are highlights, but it's an older property, and there are a few lingering issues under the veneer of boutique-y decor. The rooms are small, with cute but basic contemporary style, and amenities are few -- the hotel lacks room service and a fitness center.
2.
Blue Horizon Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls
The location is the highlight of this mid-range hotel, situated alongside the restaurants and bars on Robson Street and within walking distance of numerous Downtown Vancouver attractions. The contemporary rooms are spacious and bright, and have balconies, but don't get too excited about the amenities -- even though the hotel has a fitness center and indoor pool, they're both small and showing their age.
3.
The Georgian Court Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls
The Georgian Court offers solid value for a four-pearl luxury property. The upscale, 180-room hotel is on the edge of Downtown Vancouver, within walking distance of numerous Vancouver attractions. Rooms are large and contemporary, if a tad generic, with flat-screen TVs and mahogany accents, and a special women's-only floor (known as the Orchid Floor) is available, with rooms that include curling irons, flat irons, yoga mats, and fashion magazines for no extra fee. The fitness center is small, and other downtown hotels are more centrally located, but the hotel provides a free shuttle to downtown sites.
4.
Best Western Plus Downtown Vancouver Rating: 3.0 Pearls
The Best Western is located in downtown Vancouver, western Canada's financial center. Its 143 bright, decent-sized rooms come with flat-screen TVs iPod docks, and in many rooms, microwaves and mini-fridges. But the decor is generic, and bathrooms are nothing special. The property features a fitness center with great downtown views, a Jacuzzi, gated parking, and great freebies like Wi-Fi, shuttle service to any downtown attraction, and bike rentals. Overall, it’s a solid pick for value.
