We've seen lots of work-arounds at hostels that don't provide proper restaurants: on-site coffee shops, delivery service from neighboring restaurants, and communal kitchens -- but the pizza vending machine found under the stairs in Berlin's aletto Kudamm Hotel & Hostel is an absolute first. Hungry customers with a few Euro and three minutes can get a (sort of?) freshly made pizza with the push of a button. The machine internally kneads the dough, then tops it with sauce, mozzarella, and salami -- before flash-baking the pie and presenting it in a "pizza-matic" tray.
