Omni Dallas Hotel

Sleek and luxurious, the Omni Dallas Hotel is linked via a skywalk to the Dallas Convention Center, and is the most convenient choice for travelers attending events there. The 23-floor building -- which meets Gold LEED certification standards -- is the closest upscale hotel to the convention center. Stone-tile floors, escalators, gold decor, floor-to-ceiling windows, and artwork by Dallas artists adorn the lobby. The lounge features a wraparound gas fireplace with leather and velvet furniture. Hallways to rooms are stylish, with three-toned carpeting, light wood doors, and two elevators.

A heated pool, a hot tub, and a wheelchair lift are on the fourth floor. The deck -- with downtown Dallas views -- offers stylish lounge chairs and fresh towels. The 24-hour gym is bright, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. The gym includes state-of-the-art cardio equipment with mini TVs, free weights, core equipment, flat-screen TVs, towels, and two water coolers. In-room fitness kits are also available. The full-service spa has a hair/nail salon. There are also 39 meeting rooms comprising 110,000 square feet. The business center (for a fee) offers a staffed front desk, and three Apple computers. The hotel is on the fringe of downtown Dallas, with a skywalk connecting it to the Dallas Convention Center, and is surrounded by corporate offices and news stations. The courthouses, Dallas Union Station, and the John F. Kennedy Memorial are within walking distance. The AT&T Center is a 21-minute ride on the DART, or six minutes by car. The Dallas Museum of Art and the American Airlines Center are less than 10 minutes away by car. The airport is about a 25-minute drive.

Rooms -- including Deluxe, Premier, Executive, and Premier Salon -- are stylish with colorful artwork, classic furniture, brown-patterned carpeting, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook downtown Dallas. Executive, Hospitality, and Luxury Suites are also available. Modern bathrooms have showers, bathtubs, or both. Executive Rooms and Suites come with TVs hidden in mirrors. Coffee/teamakers, safes, irons/ironing boards, bathrobes, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges come with all rooms. Premier Salon Rooms have living rooms and Murphy beds. One-bedroom Executive Suites have living/dining rooms and three bathrooms. Hospitality Suites offer dining/sitting areas and two bedrooms. ADA rooms have roll-in showers with seats and large doorways.

The hotel also has several bars and restaurants. Bob’s Steak and Chop House is in an elegant setting of sleek furnishings and wooden wall panels. Texas Spice serves Southern style cuisine in an equally stylish setting. The Owners Box is a trendy sports bar with flat-screen TVs and two pool tables. The Uptown Terrace, with a fire pit, is located poolside on the fourth floor. The Morsel’s cafe is in the lobby. Cocktails are also available in the stylish lounge. The large Collections Gift Shop sells souvenirs and sundries.

For those traveling with children, the hotel provides kids’ backpacks filled with card games, crayons, and activity books. Expect to pay extra for Wi-Fi and parking, unless you're an Omni member.
