Ideal for business travelers because of its West Hollywood location, the Élan Hotel is a boutique, mid-range property with 49 rooms and a courteous, helpful staff. It’s within walking distance of many shopping and dining options, including the Beverly Center, but has few on-site amenities. Rooms are small and don’t have impressive views, but they are comfortable and comparable to other similar style properties.
Scene
Boutique hotel with cozy lobby and fun extra touches
The Élan Hotel is a two-story, modern-style building with large windows that overlook busy Beverly Boulevard. There’s an outdoor patio area with tables and chairs, and the lobby has hardwood floors and a small, wood-paneled front desk. A spacious common area with brown whicker sectional sofas and chairs offers a cozy atmosphere, and large windows provide lots of natural light. Though there are no restaurants on the property, there are many nearby dining options and plenty of recommendations from hotel staff. The property doesn’t have appealing views, but the staff offers little extras like candy, the weather forecast printed on little cards, and free water bottles.
Location
Located on an unattractive, busy street in Los Angeles with easy access to host of dining and shopping options
The Élan is a comfortable, small property in a convenient location, with close proximity to restaurants, shopping venues, and corporate offices. The entrance is located along an unattractive strip of Beverly Boulevard, a busy street that can create traffic noise for rooms closest to the road. The hotel itself is next to an automotive store and across from a Taco Bell and Goodwill Donation Center, with the Beverly Center shopping and dining area three blocks away. CBS’ television studios are also located under a mile to the east. The Grove at Farmers Market is about a mile away and other major tourist destinations like Sunset Strip, Rodeo Drive, and Hollywood are all within a short drive (depending on traffic, of course).
Rooms
Modern decor with comfy beds, free candy, and free Wi-Fi, but no view
The Élan Hotel’s 49 rooms are decorated in warm browns and crisp whites. Each room has either a king bed or two double beds with cushioned, chocolate-colored headboards. Suites have a separate sitting area with a pull-out sofa bed. Bathrooms are white with both a large vanity mirror and a wall-mounted circular magnifying mirror. Personal extra touches include two sets of robes and slippers, a multi-colored candy jar, nightly turndown service with chocolates and the weather forecast, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are small however and do not have impressive views.
Features
Free breakfast and wine and cheese hour, but not many amenities overall
Typical for a mid-range, boutique property, the Élan does not have an abundance of amenities. There’s no pool, on-site gym, or restaurant serving lunch and dinner, but there are plenty of places to dine nearby. The hotel offers limited room service, free continental breakfast, and a free wine and cheese reception during the early evenings. There is one business meeting room that includes a white board and computer-compatible TV for presentations. The Élan also offers packages that provide guests with additional perks like late check-out, rental cars or reduced fees for parking.
