This posh chain outpost is located on Tran Phu Street in the heart of Nha Trang City, with the beach just across the main road. Yes, this road is busy with traffic day and night, but hotel staff are on hand to help guests make their way across. This is a popular beach destination, and the InterContinental is surrounded by other hotels, with many restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. The historic Long Son Pagoda can be reached in about 10 minutes by car or 30 minutes on foot, and the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers are also about a 10-minute drive away. The Institute of Oceanography is about 15 minutes away by car. Cam Ranh International Airport is a 45-minute drive south of the hotel. 

Rooms are spacious and attractively decorated in a contemporary Vietnamese style, with a nice amount of color and pattern thrown in to make them interesting. The earth-tone color palette is highlighted by teal blue bed runners and decorative pillows, and the sharp hardwood and marble accents look nice next to the creamier tones. Posturepedic pillow-top beds are available in king size or two twins. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, sound systems, minibars, tea/coffee makers, and free Wi-Fi. Sleek marble bathrooms come with separate rainfall showers and tubs, magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, and upscale toiletries. Robes and slippers are provided. Club Rooms get extra perks such as breakfast, afternoon tea, and drinks in the evening in the Club Lounge. All rooms have balconies, some with beautiful views of the ocean. Suites are extra luxurious, and Premium Rooms include room seating areas with velvet furniture. Family Suites are available with bunk bed rooms. 

The hotel has a few dining options, though compared to other luxury offerings the choices aren't numerous. The main restaurant, the Cookbook Cafe, serves local and international fare for all meals, including an extensive breakfast buffet or a la carte. Located on the first floor next to the lobby, it's a lovely contemporary Vietnamese space with large photographs on the walls and huge windows for taking in the views. Guests can dine inside or out on the terrace overlooking the sea. The hip Lobby Bar also has indoor and outdoor seating, with chic marble and wood accents inside. Aqualine Bar serves drinks and light fare by the pool on the second floor. The Club Lounge on the 18th floor -- for guests in Club and Executive Rooms -- serves breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails for free. 

The main outdoor pool on the second floor is a lovely space overlooking the sea, with tall trees and tropical vegetation surrounding it. Lounge chairs line the wooden deck, and canopied loungers are available as well. Some sections of the pool are jetted for whirlpool action. Lounge chairs shaded by palapas are available for guests on the wide, sandy beach, though getting there requires crossing the perilous road out front. The modern fitness center has several cardio and weight-training machines in front of large windows. Free weights and exercise balls also are available. Although there is no spa facility, a variety of spa services are available. 

The Planet Trekkers kids' club entertains the little ones with games, books, and toys in a colorful indoor space and outdoors as well. The hotel's six event spaces, including ballrooms, can accommodate business and social gatherings of various sizes, and all have windows for natural light. A business center offers computers for guests to use, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
