This upper-middle-range business hotel has 133 clean, contemporary, but somewhat basic rooms with large windows and good soundproofing. Amenities are scarce -- just a skinny fitness room with a sauna and a glass-enclosed, top-floor restaurant serving a good breakfast -- but it is within a 10-minute walk of three subway lines and offers free Wi-Fi, coffee, and tea. Its central location in the busy Retiro district is conveniently close to major attractions and great shopping, but some rooms are slightly small for the price.

El Conquistador is located in Retiro -- a busy area just to the north of Microcentro. It’s one block from main thoroughfares like 9 de Julio and Santa Fe avenues, and within walking distance to great shopping and major tourist sites.
Retiro is the transportation hub of Buenos Aires. Often, "transportation hub" is synonymous with gritty, depressing, and traffic-filled, but this is not the case with Retiro (except the traffic-filled part). The neighborhood is home to upscale shops, luxury hotels, and the Plaza San Martin park, surrounded by beautiful historic mansions (many of which now serve as embassies).
