This charming, elegant B&B advertises itself as the only inn on the island to offer a full, hot breakfast (available thanks to its commercial kitchen). Winvian, Connecticut
The Winvan has a renowned farm-to-table restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Chris Eddy, and the fabulous a la carte breakfast is included in the price. Think: a terrific pastry basket, French toast, sausage and potatoes…the options are plentiful. The Winvian is a romantic, upscale property set on 113 acres of countryside outside tiny Morris, and its 19 individually decorated cottages blend understated, rustic elegance with modern amenities.
Captain Lord Mansion, Maine
There aren’t many inns offering breakfasts with courses. But the Captain Lord Mansion offers a family-style, multi-course breakfast, starting with fruit and yogurt, followed by hot muffins, and concluding with a hot entreee such as Strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast or Mansion “Stackers,” a potato pancake layered with ham, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese sauce. This small classic inn featuring Victorian-style rooms is just an eight-minute walk from the Kennebunkport town center.
