Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers

This Crowne Plaza is essentially an airport hotel with business travelers in mind, and by those standards (and most others, in fact), it's an extremely nice option, so long as travelers don't mind being a metro ride from Copenhagen's city center. Large windows and soaring ceilings make for a bright, spacious lobby, and decor throughout is sleek and modern. Most interiors have an open layout, and the look is a blend of Scandinavian minimalism and urban-chic elements like raw concrete. The lobby is big and bright, with striking abstract art over the front desk and a few leafy plants softening what is otherwise a fairly monochrome, austere space. Black chairs provide a spot for guests to sit beside floor-to-ceiling windows, and there are a bar and restaurant for anyone looking to mingle. The hotel is part of a building complex that's designated mainly for corporate use, but water features, natural wood bridges, and the hotel's dark gray facade all lend a fresh, design-forward feel. The hotel attracts a large number of business travelers, though leisure travelers pass through as well.

The hotel is situated near several other modern buildings in a commercial area that's quite removed from Copenhagen's city center. It's not the most charming immediate area -- in fact, it's not charming at all -- and the closest landmark is Field’s shopping mall, 10 minutes away on foot. Trips into the city are easy enough during the metro's operating hours, and it's just a two-minute walk to Orestad station. Trips to the center of town, including Nyhavn and Christiania, take about 15 minutes, while Tivoli Gardens only takes 10 minutes to reach. Copenhagen Airport is a 10-minute drive, and the airport provides free shuttles. Malmo, Sweden, is a 35-minute drive from the hotel over the Oresund. 

The rooms at the hotel are spacious and contemporary, with a bright look characterized by classic Scandinavian design trends: light wood veneer furniture and a restrained color palette. White, red, and subtle earth tones are the tones, though colorful, striped floor runners and framed pictures of Copenhagen landmarks add a bit more pizzazz to the look. All rooms have minibars, electric kettles for coffee or tea, flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are sharp, with charcoal gray and white tiles plus generous granite vanities and shower/tub combos. Unfortunately, floors can get wet due to the tubs not being fully enclosed. Club Rooms have access to perks like a lounge and free breakfast. Family Rooms each have two bathrooms, and space for rollaway beds. 

The hotel has a modern restaurant on-site serving a breakfast buffet for a fee and Nordic cuisine -- decor is trendy and sleek, and the menu has a focus on locally sourced, organic ingredients. There’s also a stylish lounge where guests can order a cocktail. Club Room guests have access to the Club Lounge, where a free breakfast buffet is served in the morning. Snacks and soft drinks are available in the lounge throughout the day and there are free cocktails in the evening. The 24-hour fitness center has a variety of cardio and weight machines, though it's on the small side. A 24-hour business center has printing and scanning services, and 12 meeting rooms are available for private events, the largest accommodating up to 800 guests. The hotel also has a sharp atrium that can be booked for events. Self- and valet-parking are available for a fee, and pets are allowed, though fees also apply.
