Scene

A pirate-themed pool for kids, a full-service spa for parents

The Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa provides plenty of opportunities for fun after a day at the theme parks, including a quiet pool ringed with relaxing lounge chairs, and a more rambunctious option, the Pirate's Plunge, a pool with a pirate ship, water cannons, waterfalls, whirlpools, and a festive tiki bar. The resort has kids programing throughout the day. The spa's service menu even includes up-do and makeup application for girls under 10. Evening fun can also be had at the on-site sports bars with its 17 TV screens and 32 different beers on tap.

Location

One mile to Disney and walking distance to outlet shopping

The Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa is truly a self-contained village, with its own Pizza Hut and Irish bar. The property is a mile from Disney and a short walk from the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, but other major theme parks are within 10 miles. Several of these are served by free shuttle. Walmart is a quick walk for guests looking to stock their kitchens. The grounds are lined with palm trees (and parking lots), and the two pools are tucked between buildings, making the place feel like bit like a destination.

Rooms

All suites, in room washers and dryers, private balconies, jacuzzi tubs

Suites at the Lake Buena Vista Resort are big, and have sizable private balconies with tables and chairs, although some have less than stellar views. Master bedroom comes with double jetted tubs; the kitchen is equipped with a blender, toaster, mixer, ample dishes and utensils, pots and pans, a full-size oven, and more. Units have washer/dryers, dishwashers, and garbage disposals. Towels are not replaced, and rooms are not cleaned except by prior arrangement, at a surcharge, but vacuum cleaners are provided.

Features

Pirate Plunge, tiki bar, Pizza Hut, and grocery delivery

The amenities at Lake Buena Vista Resort have a strong family-friendly lean with its "Pirate Plunge" pool and staySky Kids Club, which offers movie nights, face-painting, and more. Adults are treated well, too, with the hammock-lined Lani's Luau poolside tiki bar, Frankie Farrell's sports bar with 32 beers on tap, and a full-service spa offering facials, body wraps, massages, pedicures, and more. The 24-hour fitness center has cardio and Cybex machines. Families can play pool, air hockey or arcade games in the game room. Rooms do come with kitchens, but Pizza Hut and grocery delivery are available, too.
