This design-focused, chic hotel offers a younger, funkier alternative to upscale hotels in Atlanta. The contemporary style ranges from the antler-adorned chandeliers in the lobby to the uber-modern, minimalist decor in other common areas. The 291 comfortable rooms are whimsical in design with playful patterns and mismatched artwork. This hotel is fun and lively -- especially the rooftop whiskey bar -- but the small pool and open bathrooms might be problematic for some guests.
An upscale location in Buckhead, close to restaurants and shopping
The W Atlanta Buckhead is located on Peachtree Road, an extension of Atlanta's main drag, Peachtree Street. It's within walking distance of Lenox Shopping Center and the Buckhead subway stop, which will take you straight to Downtown Atlanta attractions in about 15 minutes.
Buckhead is an affluent area in uptown Atlanta with tree-lined streets, beautiful mansions, high-rise office buildings, and luxury hotels. It's Atlanta's third largest financial district, and draws tourists and locals alike with its upscale shops, magnificent restaurants, and bars. However, the lively nightlife scene died down a bit after an ordinance was passed requiring all bars to close by 2:30 a.m. The area also boasts the Atlanta History Center, a 32-acre space with gardens, trails, a historic farm and mansion, and a museum.
