The ultra-luxe Beloved, on a white-sand beach, features 109 suites with super sexy decor. They're all-white, with spacious, sleek marble bathrooms and Jacuzzi tubs, and have the vibe of a luxurious New York City hotel room -- except they're about four times the size and feature private balconies, many with ocean views. The expansive spa and fitness center are great, and the two pools with food and drink service are large and attractive. There are four restaurants, but most of them are not open all hours and service can be slow. Another downside is that the beach is often strewn with seaweed, and many guests have complained that the pool water is much too cold. The Beloved Hotel and Excellence Playa Mujeres have a very similar vibe and level of luxury, so travelers may want to compare prices before booking.

The Beloved Hotel is located on the beautiful beaches of Playa Mujeres, an upscale resort area about 30 minutes from downtown Cancun. It's close to a Greg Norman-designed golf course and the marina, and is just a short boat-ride from Isla Mujeres.
Thousands of spring breakers, honeymooners, couples young and old, families, and groups of friends travel to Cancun every year, making it one of the world's top beach destinations. Its turquoise waters, beautiful stretches of sand, and night-long parties are a main draw here, but there are cultural attractions as well: Cancun is the gateway to the breathtaking Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum (Coba is also nearby, but is less well-preserved). Even for those planning to spend most of their time in lounge chair, these centuries-old archaeological sites are well worth a visit.
