The JW Marriott is located in Downtown's Financial District, at the mouth of the Miami River, which cuts through downtown and empties into Biscayne Bay.
Miami's financial center occupies downtown's southern tip. The majority of Downtown Miami's hotels are located here, as well as numerous corporate offices. Though Downtown does not have a beach, many hotels have views of the bay. Attractions include museums, American Airlines Arena, and the Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts (a triple threat of opera, philharmonics and ballet).
