The 180-room Westin Verasa looks more like an upscale boutique hotel than major chain. From the comfy beds to the sleek furniture and artwork, to the unique bocce ball court outside, everything feels modern and trendy. Right in the heart of downtown Napa, the hotels' rooms offer impressive views of the Napa River and city -- and a spacious outdoor patio and pool with private cabanas make it a nice place to kick back. Guests checking in with kids might want to request a larger Deluxe room or Suite for even more space.

The Westin Verasa is located in a secluded area near Napa's downtown area, right on the western bank of the Napa River. Even if you don't have a car, you can still easily access Oxbow Market and dining options by foot -- and the Wine Train is right outside the hotel.
Napa is the seat of Napa County, and has the largest downtown area to speak of in the Valley. The highest concentration of "city center" is on the west side of the Napa River, but nothing is hard to reach by car: The beginning of the Silverado Trail is only a few minutes' drive away.
