The 36 spacious, high-end rooms and suites are bedecked in plenty of deluxe touches, including fresh flowers and large, furnished balconies that overlook the pools or gardens, and luxurious villas with private pools and gardens are also available. Baron Palms Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

At just 230 rooms, the Baron Palms Resort is one of the smaller all-inclusive complexes of its kind in the area, and is a 20-minute drive to the nightlife in Naama Bay. Facilities are still abundant, however, with plenty of restaurants, bars, two large pools, a spa, and luxurious touches like padded loungers and poolside drinks service. The beautiful private beach, though a short walk away from the property, provides a peaceful experience as this is an adult-only resort. Rooms have some authentic touches and balconies, though none have sea views.

Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

As expected of this luxury brand, the 136-room Four Seasons Resort has all the hallmarks of a five-pearl hotel -- plentiful quality dining, lovely swimming pools, and beautiful sea views. Spacious, elegant rooms all have private outdoor balconies or terraces, most with lovely sea views, and lots of tech amenities can be rented for a fee, such as iPads and game consoles. The private beach, though a bit small, offers excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities as well as two yachts available for guests' use. There are also a spa, tennis center, and a kids' club.

4

Xperience Sea Breeze Resort

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

The 304-room Xperience Sea Breeze Resort is an upscale, adults-only complex located in Shark's Bay, a 10-minute drive from Sharm El Sheikh's Naama Bay tourist hub. It ticks all of the boxes as far as facilities, with plenty of pools, bars, and better food than most all-inclusive resorts. However, it lacks the spacious grounds of many similar properties in the area and its sloping, hillside setting also means there's a lot of steps to navigate. Rooms are spacious and some have balconies with sea views.

5

Coral Sea Sensatori – Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

The Sensatori Sharm El-Sheikh by Coral Sea is a 470-room luxury resort that caters to a broad range of guests by separating families with kids from couples via designated zones. Decor is smart and contemporary throughout, including in the sophisticated rooms, all with private outdoor space and many with excellent sea views. Dining is a cut above similar resorts -- and most of it is included -- though drinks can be low quality. The numerous pools, activities, and entertainment are also better than average and free Wi-Fi throughout is a real bonus that is uncommon in other resorts of the area.

6

Stella Di Mare Beach Hotel & Spa

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

The 298-room Stella Di Mare Beach Hotel & Spa is an upscale resort set on a low cliff overlooking Naama Bay and close to its bustling downtown area. It's one of the area's best hotels in this price range and is impressive inside and out, with an elegant lobby, manicured grounds, and attentive levels of service that give it a high-end feel. Rooms are pleasantly if simply decorated and have private balconies or terraces, with higher-floor rooms offering superb sea views. Besides the main buffet restaurant, there are two a la carte eateries serving Mediterranean and Asian dishes, plus several bars. The grounds include two pools and a kids' pool, as well as a full-service spa and tennis courts. Though the artificial beach consists of a sandy terrace, there are jetties out to a lovely coral reef.

7

Le Royale Luxury Collection Resort Sharm EI Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

The 165-room Le Royale Sharm El Sheikh is an upscale boutique resort set within Sonesta Beach Resort in the bustling tourist hub of Naama Bay. The grounds are particularly attractive, with lush, landscaped gardens and three swimming pools. Rooms are spacious and elegant, with good tech including free Wi-Fi (a rarity in hotels in the area); some offer direct pool access. One downside, however, is all dining options are in the neighboring sister hotel, though guests can also share its ample amenities including a fitness center and lovely beach where there's a designated area only for Le Royale guests.

8

Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort

Sharm El Sheikh, South Sinai, Red Sea and Sinai, Egypt

The 401-room Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort is an upper-middle-range vacation complex set on a hillside overlooking the Red Sea, about a 15-minute drive from Sharm el Sheikh's main tourist hub. While the rooms are fairly plain and simply furnished, they offer the comforts of minibars, tea/coffee facilities, and high-quality toiletries; some have outstanding sea views. The waterfall gardens are particularly attractive with funicular carriages that transport guests back uphill (though these are not always in service). Pools are numerous and the beach, though small, is pleasant and has an excellent off-shore reef.
