A quirky hotel converted from a shopping mall
The Suites at Sunchase offer large rooms, but no direct beach access. The hotel does manage to provide a relaxing environment with its outdoor, curvy pool surrounded by palm trees, but the pool is next to the road. There are beach chairs and tables with umbrellas by the pool that features an appealing rock waterfall and a Jacuzzi. In addition to this relaxing space, the Suites at Sunchase also offer spots for evening entertainment. The Casablanca Lounge offers live music in the evenings -- that can be quite loud -- and there is also an attractive lobby bar.
In the middle of the South Padre Island hotel sprawl, but not directly on the beach
The Suites at Sunchase is located in the middle of South Padre’s hotel sprawl, a few blocks from the beach with access via a residential area. It’s right on Padre Boulevard and close to local restaurants, although a car is required to reach them with ease. There is a McDonald’s one block south and numerous shops selling beachwear and trinkets are also within walking distance.
Huge, modern rooms with mini-kitchens
Rooms in Suites at Sunchase are large and modern with stylish furniture. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms offer walk-in showers. While rooms have nice details like big flat-screen TVs and a wet bar with marble countertops, many are oddly shaped -- most likely due to the fact that the property was previously a shopping mall. Strangely, there is no hair dryer in the bathrooms. In addition to regular rooms, there are a limited number of condos to rent from the same company, though they are located in a different facility from the main hotel.
A nice swimming pool and fitness area
While the Suites at Sunchase is not located near the beach, the hotel does offer a curvy swimming pool surrounded by palm trees.
A top-level lounge and nearby McDonald's
The Suites at Sunchase is a quirky hotel converted from a former shopping center. It is located right on South Padre Island's main street, Padre Boulevard, but not right on the beach. The hotel features contemporary, well-equipped rooms that feel stylish and spacious, but there are no balconies or exceptional views. Additional in-room amenities include mini-kitchens with sinks, microwaves, and mini-fridges. A curvy pool surrounded by palm trees is a nice feature, although it is next to the road. While the lobby feels like a shopping mall and the top-level lounge can be noisy due to loud music, there is free covered parking and an on-site spa.
