Home to skyscrapers that house corporate headquarters, banks and law firms, the Financial District is best explored during the day, when the area is most active. The CN Tower, one of the world’s tallest buildings, is one of the main draws, as well as the Harbourfront area, Union Station, and the Eaton Center, arguably Canada’s most important shopping mall. At night, several sport venues are within walking distance, and nearby theaters open their doors. But it's quiet overall, and a good place to get a solid night’s sleep: The streets empty out as most tourists move to livelier areas, like the Art and Design District.
The good thing about being in the compact Financial District is that you'll be reasonably close to the area's attractions no matter where you stay. If you want to be close to the CN Tower and the Rogers Center, choose a hotel in the southern part of the neighborhood. For easy access to great shopping, stay in the area north of King Street.
