300-year-old canal house filled with antiques
Situated in the lovely 17th-century canal ring district of Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Seven Bridges Hotel is housed in adjacent 300-year-old canal houses. The reception area is filled with flowers and features a rare Dutch Empire recamier couch from 1820. The rest of the inn is chock-full of antiques, including a Louis XVI table, Baroque commode, and Biedermeier furniture. The knowledgeable, keen-eyed proprietors comb the antiques stores and auction houses like Sotheby's for the pieces, and have documentation of authenticity. Apart from the reception area, there are no communal areas to mingle with other guests, but the elegant rooms have a serene atmosphere.
