There’s a new hotel on the block in Chelsea: Fashion 26 opened its doors last week, and this sleek Wyndham looks like it might emerge as a real competitor to the nearby Hotel Indigo. We got an early peek at the property yesterday morning (we like to give hotels a few months to settle in before we do our full undercover review), and it appears to have devoted resources to the right places: the contemporary, stylish lobby, the upscale burger restaurant, Rare Bar & Grill, compact rooms decked out with Frette linens, iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and Ghilchrist & Soames toiletries, and a soon-to-open rooftop bar. Whether or not all the moving parts combine to make a seamlessly working whole remains to be seen (you’ll have to wait for the full review), so for now, we’ll have to let the photos speak for themselves.
